Switzerland is bordered by Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein. The four national languages are German, French, Italian and Romansh, making the nation multilingual. It hosts many international organizations, including the Red Cross, the WTO and one of the UN’s two European offices. Switzerland has been formally neutral since just after the Napoleonic wars of the 19th century.
